Evernight: The Other Side of March 7th? HSR Latest Shadow Character Exposed!

Candlelight reflects the past, fading away silently in the mist. Evernight emerges from the shadows, willing to pay any price to protect the mirror's reflection.

"Have you noticed? There's a huge difference between March 7th and Evernight—their selfie styles are completely different!" In the special program "Keeping Up With Star Rail" by Interstellar Peace Entertainment, Owlbert revealed amusing details about this mysterious relationship.

"March 7th's selfies are all cute and lively, while Evernight's are cold and aloof, making her seem unapproachable. What's even more shocking is that I sneaked a peek at March 7th's photo album and found it filled with many similarly cold and aloof-style photos."

🌌 Background and Mysterious Connections

Evernight, a new 5-star character introduced in Version 3.6 "Back to Earth in Evernight" of Honkai: Star Rail, is known as the "Hidden Stranger," and her very existence is an enigma. As an Ice-type character following the "Memory" Path, she shares intricate ties with March 7th. Officially described as the "embodiment of March 7th's forgotten past," her purpose is to protect March 7th's future.

In the complex situation on Omphalos, while Evernight shares similar goals with the Trailblazer, her envisioned salvation plan deeply conflicts with those discussed by the Goldborn and the Trailblazer. Based on her line in the Version 3.7 PV"For new life to sprout, its seed must die"—players speculate that her plan might involve destroying Omphalos entirely to defeat the Emanator of Destruction "Iron Tomb."

Evernight is willing to go to any lengths to protect March 7th and fulfill her wishes. March 7th is her most cherished existence. During the Trailblaze mission before the hero's death, when the Trailblazer was imprisoned "Beyond the Myth," Evernight appeared, dispersed the Memokeepers of the Garden of Recollection, and shared March 7th's memories to prove her identity. She once told March 7th, "Goodnight, dear March 7th. Arriving at Omphalos was no accident." This line hints at a deeper connection between the two beyond surface appearances.

📸 Design and Unique Details

Evernight's design is filled with meticulously prepared details, from her appearance to her abilities, highlighting her unique identity. In the September 17th episode of "Keeping Up With Star Rail," Evernight posed a thought-provoking question: "Wouldn’t it have been better to use the red form from the start?" This question not only sparked curiosity about the storyline but also led to further speculation about her abilities and background.

The program also highlighted the differences in the two characters' selfie styles: March 7th’s are cute and lively, while Evernight’s are cold and aloof. Surprisingly, March 7th’s album already contained numerous photos similar to Evernight’s style, taken long before the Express crew arrived at Omphalos. This suggests that their connection runs deeper than it appears.

On Evernight’s official artwork, the album on her table contains photos of March 7th in both Preservation and Hunt Paths, further reinforcing the link between the two characters. Below her Omphalos Hero official artwork, a phrase in Omphalos language translates to "We were never apart," perhaps the most direct hint about their relationship.

Based on Evernight’s scene in the "Salvation PV: Trailblazer," where she devours Omphalos, and the design elements of teeth in her imagery, some players speculate that she may be related to the "Voracity" Path. This could explain her extreme methods and formidable power.

⚔️ Combat Style and Gameplay Performance

As a 5-star Ice-type character following the "Memory" Path, Evernight Moon excels at coordinating with Memosprites, showcasing a unique combat style. When she is in the team, she significantly boosts the CRIT DMG of all allies' Memosprites, and the more Memory Path characters in the team, the greater the bonus. This makes her exceptionally powerful in specific team compositions.

She can summon her own Memosprit, "Evernight," to join the battle and gain "Mnemic" resources. As the layers of "Mnemic" accumulate, "Evernight’s" damage increases accordingly. When "Mnemic" reaches a certain level, "Evernight" immediately takes action, dealing devastating Ao damage to all enemies. This mechanism allows Evernight to grow increasingly powerful in prolonged battles.

Evernight’s Ultimate not only deals significant damage to all enemies but also allows her and "Evernight" to enter a special enhanced state called "Puzzle of Darkness," large boosting their damage. This dual enhancement mechanism enables her to turn the tide of battle at critical moments, demonstrating the formidable strength of a 5-star character.

Her combat style reflects her background traits—aloof yet powerful, willing to adopt extreme means to achieve her goals. In Omphalos’s salvation plan, this fighting style may also hint at the methods she is willing to employ to achieve her objectives, echoing her determination to protect March 7th.

Version 3.6 "Back to Earth in Evernight" will be released on September 24, 2025. Players will then be able to experience Evernight’s story firsthand, explore her mysterious connection with March 7th, and uncover her unique role in Omphalos’s salvation plan. The addition of this enigmatic character is sure to bring new depth and drama to the story of Honkai: Star Rail.
